I took this photo for Monochrome Weekend of Tampa's Ballast Point Pier. It was a breathtakingly beautiful day, bright and warm. Giant puffy clouds filled the blue sky and climbed forever. The sea gulls were swooping in to try and score some fisherman's bait or a fish left on the pier. I also took this scene in color but I felt the black and white captured it best.

Yes, yes, yes. A perfect choice. This is an excellent image and truly works in b&w.
I do remember this shot Frank. I especially liked the perspective of this long pier and how clear it is. Nice work!
The black and white does focus the eye monthe shapes and perspective of the long pier, in a way that a color photo would not have done because of the vibrancy of the sky
superb! great choice and great perspective and lines
It's so serene and I think doing it in monochrome accentuates that. A lovely choice!
I remember this one also. It would be a great shot in color, too, but I think the b&w is most effective.
It's definitely Florida! What I really appreciate about this is the wonderful contrast in the monochrome. It's one for the wall.
