Heater? For sale?
This man was standing at an intersection on South Dale Mabry Highway at about 2:00. He's right in front of a very large Home Depot store. I don't know if he's selling this heater (balanced on an old chair), or trying to find kerosene or something to make it work. The container looks like one used for gas for lawnmowers, so I am baffled as to exactly what he's doing. Except freezing in our cold weather. When the temperatures drop here, mankind starts acting a bit weird.

That is pretty weird! Another example of why one should carry a camera at all times.
On the new tonight it said you might be in the high 20s tonight. What is the lowest it has been where you live?
It was sunny and about 25 here today.
Amazing.
@ Lori Skoog - They are saying 27 in the morning which is just nuts. Most people don't realize we do NOT have furnaces here. Our air conditioning systems are reverse cycle so we are heating with straight electricity the last few days. The AC systems are built to draw warm air and humidity out of our homes and, using a refrigerate, push cool air in. But, when it's very cold, it's pretty inefficient to say the least.
18 degrees was recorded in 1962, but our lows are supposed to be in the 50s...all winter. Three days a year of near 32 degrees is normal.
How do you find these people Frank?
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. There is only one word in this picture and it could mean a thousand (well, maybe a dozen) things.
It appears he is trying to sell it, but maybe he's just offering to help people get warm for a few minutes -- have them stand in front of the thing until they thaw out...
@ Jacob - Just a guess but if his sign read heater FOR SALE it might help.
Maybe he needs a heater. Is it true that it is so warm in your part of the world many homes don't have a source for heat?
How odd indeed--it will be int he 40's and 50's here tonight, and you are in the 20's. This weather is so strange.
