Empty

There is something sad, lonely and gray about an empty restaurant. Especially one with a popular bar, music and a big outdoor, covered patio area. This place is usually packed and crowded with party-goers enjoying its close proximity to the St. Pete Times Forum and its Lightning hockey games and year-round concerts. (Cirque du Soleil - Saltimbanco is performing there right now.) Catching this place so empty means one of two things: you've either arrived way too early or you should have left long before now. You're very right about an empty restaurant like this one. And this is an excellent shot, by the by...

Some things I like better when they're empty - like schools and churches...

But not restaurants, cafes, bars, etc. They should be filled with people.

Have a great day. Is it still raining there? We're getting inundated and a huge water oak limb came down in our front yard...I'm afraid the whole tree is next. That wouldn't be good.

It is flooding like crazy here. All three of my morning papers are soaked thru. water is over the curb and into the yard. Tornado warnings are in effect. The radar shows the storm stalled a bit so this may go on a while. We have a Peke who would drown if he stepped off the bottom step. He better learn to use the human facilities fast. Pretty rough weather morning. The water falling just has nowhere to go. We're too close to the bay. (I hate that the oaks take a beating.)

Excellent Theme Day post Frank. I really like those pink chairs! It's not raining here anymore. I have a huge water oak in my backyard and I'm thinking about having it removed before we get into the worst part of hurricane season. I don't want it to fall on my house!

I've done both. The thing that amazes me about empty places like this are the smells. So very different from when they are full.

I've done both too :)
Love all the pastel colors!

And goodness about the flooding! Stay safe, Frank!

B - You are so, so right about the smell of an empty bar area. Distinctive stale beer odor, etc. This one was soaked thru its wooden deck. Very pleasant.

Hilda - At least it's not a hurricane yet, just a bad water-filled storm system.

I love this one! I love the colours, the angle, the feeling!

Rather than desolate, it could just be considered peaceful, but I don't think you'd buy that! The soft shade of pink adds a nice touch to the overall effect.

Great choice for the theme day. Like the perspective too!

At least you would have no difficulty getting a table right now :-)

Very good idea and nice framing, I like the color, almost monochrome.
